Getting to know Priyanka
I completed my Bachelor of Optometry with Honours at the University of Auckland in 2018 before beginning my career in Levin, where I developed a strong foundation in full-scope optometry.
During this time, I also contributed to the National Diabetic Retinal Screening Programme, gaining valuable experience working with a wide range of patients and collaborating with local ophthalmologists in the management of diabetic eye conditions.
I particularly enjoy the clinical challenges involved in medical optometry. With diagnostics and treatment options continuing to evolve, I value being able to provide care that is considered and tailored to the individual patient.
Now based in Whanganui, I really enjoy the variety of clinical work and the strong sense of community that comes with practising in a smaller town. It has been rewarding getting to know my patients and being part of their ongoing eye care.

Outside the consulting room
Outside of work, I enjoy spin classes, yoga and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. I’m always keen to give something new a go, with my husband as a willing taste tester — no matter the result! I also enjoy having time to relax, stay active and make the most of life outside the practice.
