Meet Kerry
I studied optometry at Cardiff University in Wales, becoming fully qualified in 1992. In 1993, I became a Member of British College of Optometrists and practiced in Europe for five years. In 1998, I moved to Jamaica and worked for a collection of practices before settling in New Zealand with my family.
For me, optometry is about going the extra mile to solve visual problems. By exploring each person’s needs we can investigate different ways of optical correction – there is always more than one solution! Finding the solution that is best for each individual and their lifestyle is what I endeavour to do every day.
Many of my hobbies involve exercise in some way. I love tramping and can often be found cycling or running. I have recently taken up kayaking and am often out on the river at lunchtimes or weekends. My ultimate passion is the stair race challenge in the Masters Games!
